I have been going to NY for 20 years and never did I see the need to travel in this way so naturally the girls were there to hold my hand and photograph this historical event. What a blast we had!

We laughed.... we cried... we saw Jersey boys and Mary Poppins and Patti & I saw Grease too.

ANS was already in NY for the annual DM Days convention that was fun as always. He is fully committed to Kristie! or otherwise known as affianced. ( i am sure that I have mispelled that one) We are so happy for them. We (Grammer-Williams family) have grown to love Kristie she has a great personality with Broadway talent to match. Complete with you will never be able to blow out these candles candles. Although Mr Williams decided to share the surprise information to the girls and when I got home from work I said that I was changing my clothes to go to Riverside for dinner. Sam became very upset and said "Mom you do not know that we are going to Riverside!" I said yes I do we always go every Wednesday! She stomped off very mad repeating yet again that I did not know we were going. It was very fun to see the worlds of Jill colliding from ANS team to family and kids to college friends and the ever so fabulous Utah county fabulosity! (both with red hair) Then the dolls got a hairstyle and off to tea we went. Alex and jerry in tow although i have no proof (photo) because Alex did not want anyone to know that he was there. Jerry too. The dolls sipped tea along with us and we little cookies. What more could a 4 year old girl ask for? In most cases our much needed R&R is food centered. Ok and maybe a little wine too... on with the show I hope I don't have too many tangents. So our adventures at Disneyworld soon wrapped up and onto the Disney Cruise we went.

I must speak of the Disney cruise if I may. Ok so let’s start with the concierge level. Not sure how much more this cost in the room category only Jerry knows but the only advantage we saw to this extra expense was that when we checked into the dock we had a separate line, or no line if you will. Then we were ushered to an area where we could make reservations of any kind. That and a daily fruit selection or cookie was it. I am not kidding this is not Jill being a pain in the ass this was BAD!!!! At this point- the beginning I was hunkering down for a long painful 4 days. But then wait a light at the end of the tunnel….. That nights at dinner on the wine list—by the glass--- Cakebread Chardonnay. Ok people I can deal with this situation when I can have cakebread chardonnay. It is true I can overlook many things and bad food is a big one but I can. First night dinner at Palo’s adults only. It is their nice dinner (so fancy) We dropped the kids at the oceaneer club and off to palo’s we go. The server that night was from Bosnia and quite fabulous. I was trying to figure a way to bring him home in my suitcase. He could be the new William’s house manager. Loud screaming babies. Ok I am really trying to have compassion here. My babies have screamed bloody murder on many occasions. But the symphony of babies screaming was a lot. Ok not enough that a glass of cakebread could not take away. Maybe they could have a screaming babies section and then every body else. Just a thought. The show that night after dinner was fabulous. Characters, music and princesses. The only thing. The next day was the Disney island castaway cay. I liked just getting off the boat and being on the beach in 5 minutes. That was good. We get settled on the beach. Wishing the concierge fairies would surface again and show us the way to the roped off concierge area. The next thing we know we are told that it will rain hard in 30 minutes and we see these dark looming clouds close by. We decide it is lunch time and we pack it up. Little did we know that rain to follow would be of a torrential nature. We actually had to laugh because it was so crazy. Our family dynamics are changing every day. With Alex, the resident teenager we struggle or chuckle when he still is recognized as a child. When he gets handed the child menu we quickly ask for him to get the adult version- or we just share our own. But tonight at the grill in the hotel Alex requests his beverage. I believe a coke (rated PG in our house) with what appears to be a shot glass sippy cup. Small and with a large bendy straw. Much to Alex’s horror. Jerry and I laughed our asses off and Alex took his steak knife or maybe it was his fork high and brought it down.

(see photo #2) This was the same night as Maine Lobster SNAFU. Clearly you can compare the two lobster photo’s and see for yourself. The tiny lobster however at the bargain price $52 was exactly half the size of a fork? The photo does not lie nor distort. Shula’s 28 oz was double the cost of the Ritz---- but really the shula’s lobster fed three of us. Maybe 4 if you count what Jerry ate. We sometimes want to use our blob (this is not a typo) to critique our travel experiences. Sometime people assume that when you stay at 5 star properties you don’t get the crazy service stories. But this is clearly not the case. When we blob or blog whichever, about our travel experiences you must know that we are grateful to be able to travel in magnitude that we travel in. I mean please do we really have the nerve to bitch about the level of service at the Ritz or the Four Seasons? Well you are right we are very grateful that we can travel in the level that we do. But we do and we do a lot and we should have expectations when you are coughing up the dough per night to stay here. We have a few of our favorites. Like when staying at the Parker in Palm Springs and being told to go get our own damn drinks. Thats up there. The kids are genuinely dis-appointed when their Christmas eve gift is only PJ's. Every year its the same thing don't they remember from year to year? although Samantha last year through a major temper tantrum over this very tradition. Are all tradition of a somewhat torturous nature? I believe so. In the Shepherd home this dog-pile was 9 deep. Oxygen was in short supply near the bottom of the pile. But none-the-less this tradition was strictly adhered to on christmas eve.Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-10662185791316932042008-02-01T15:39:00.001-08:002008-02-01T15:43:37.303-08:00A few photos of the night
Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-84606888464362755852008-02-01T15:26:00.000-08:002008-02-01T15:35:45.310-08:00Holiday Cocktail-ing at RiversideWhat a great way to escape the holiday mayhem. Yes drinking at Riverside always a treat. But then you take a couple dozen of the most fabulous people and you have yourself one hell of a good time. Particularly when the gift exchange comes out. Okay so this was not any ordinary gift exchange. These items were of the ADULT nature. I am certain that riverside has some kind of bylaws not allowing these types of TOOLS if you will... to be brought into their/our fine establishment. But hey we were in good company. Our gathering of people spanned multiple states and we have been told that permit would be required should we decide to engage in anything of this nature next year. Bravo I say to all of you who do not live in Utah county we have just as much fun as you do!Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-50508870869827938912007-11-27T05:55:00.000-08:002007-11-27T06:14:06.953-08:00Thanksgiving in JamaciaNo Problem? Ok so its a little more laid back then most resorts, so much so one might call the culture lazy, but this little island getaway is definately a beauty. Sun every day except today which posed a perfect opportunity for a post. The resort was packed from the beginning as guests clamored to save pool side lounge chairs before 8 am. This led to slower than expected services and "reservations required" at every dinner venue. Jill and I golfed at the White Witch Golf course which had jaw-dropping views from every tee. We were scheduled for golf today but experienced a "rainout". We'll be heading up to the White Witch house for a tour to learn about the White woman who killed three of her husbands and many slaves at this once great sugar plantation. Sofie's concerned that the Witch is still alive or that we'll be seeing her grave. Should be fun. The kids have been having a great time on the beach and at the pool, though its seems they're definately ready to come home. Photos soon to come!! I would be cheating myself if I didn't mention the Morris family from NY. One night Jill and I headed up to the "Nice" restaurant on the hill for a romantic dinner, only to be inindated by a bus load of Morris children singing questionably lyriced ryhmes the entire way, then only to be sat next to their two tables of 8 at the restaruant for more antics. Later in the restaurant lounge, the apologetic Uncles treated me to a cigar for our troubles. All's well that ends well! Hope you're all well and the holidays were good. See you in a couple of days!Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-27862536309222960282007-11-10T19:57:00.000-08:002007-11-10T20:08:43.176-08:00A day early ... but i have my passport! What kind of of allowances do we give ourselves in the aging process? As a female barking down 40's tree I poke fun at myself regularly. You have to.... to keep sane. Mostly its the memory, sweating and the gray hair that cause the most grief. But Mr williams this week has earned some serious shit. You see he has had a big trip planned for over 6 months to Costa Rica and this week he arrived at the airport only to be informed that he was too early to check in. You see his flight was the next day... LOL This one is going to have staying power the shit being given that is. It is important to dole out the shit to the Cancer/Leo Mr Williams as the more we give out the better taker he has become. I remember many years ago I could not give him any kind of crap without suffering the total wrath from hell. Oh have I mentioned that I swear ok just checking... I have not photo of this but I am sure that a photo of his 40 pound dorado he cought will be posted as soon as he returns. Until then I remain Un-Supervised!Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-54450532002855376162007-10-31T14:13:00.000-07:002007-10-31T15:09:00.887-07:00I am a little behindMy Mother's Day at Waterford!

It only took me three years to attend my first mother's day so here it is my two cents on the day. First I am quite happy with the great friends Alex has at school. They are truly a posse. 8th grade is a challenging time for parents and boys that are in the 8th grade. Particularly during Mr Bromleys biology class when an unsuspecting 8th grade boy voice is crackling when answering a question. We have all been through this to some degree. But speaking of biology and Mr Bromley's class I was entertained by the segment of the coming biology exam of Who's baby is this? is this a little bit Jerrry springer meets 8th grade biology? I think so. Whatever keeps these kids at attention. More photos to come. especially of the latest gathering Williams style. A sneak peak of The Love Boat---Big Love---Bay Watch--Simpsons and their costumes. This coming post I might add could be a little rated "R" so just a heads up I'll keep the swearing to a minimum but hey I am me and I swear.Jillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15236415970190508390noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508938705102222851.post-88655027813169671052007-10-19T10:09:00.000-07:002007-10-19T13:41:56.087-07:00Whats in a blog?Blogging-Day 2. I'm blogging...oh well, so much for avoiding this fad. First it was email, then texting, now just writing down whatever comes to mind. I should be working!!! This could be dangerous; so for all you out there that receive an invite to view please know that the rating for this blog will most always be PG-13 with a hint of R thrown in now and then(that's when Jill contributes) Ok, so here we go, hold on to your hats it could get a little bumpy.
